Adhering to the current needs for China’s digital culture and media development, while guided by the latest trend of scientific, technological and industrial revolution, School of Film, Television and Media prepares students to become specialized talents in film-television production industry with global perspective, innovative thinking and mastery of modern digital technology. The School offers 10 undergraduate majors designed by a combination of art and technology, including Radio and TV Editing and Production, Broadcasting and Hosting Art, Drama, Film and Television Literature, Drama, Film and Television Directing, Art Design for Drama, Film and Television, Performing, Photography, Visual Communication Design, Art and Technology, and Film Production.

The School has a high-level faculty led by experts and scholars, of which more than 60% have deputy senior titles or above, and more than 80% of the backbone teachers have overseas study experience. It has the National Four First Batch Talents, industry leaders and outstanding teachers in Liaoning Province, and 33 people have won Huabiao Award, Golden Rooster Award, Golden Deer Award, Flying Goddess Award, Golden Eagle Award and National Five Top Project Award. The high-level teaching team provides a solid foundation for students’ nurturing.It has more than 20 laboratories for film and television editing, film and television special effects, column production, variety show broadcasting, sound engineering, broadcasting, image creation, stage lighting design, film and television packaging, animation design, printing technology, graphic design and so on.

The majors of Radio and TV Editing and Production, Broadcasting and Hosting Art, Photography and Visual Communication Design rank first in the “First-class Major of Art in Liaoning Province” by iResearch Alumni Association. In the past three years, students have won more than 1500 awards in China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival, China University Students Art Festival, China International University Students’ Micro Film Competition, Pingyao International Photography Festival, Dali International Film Festival, China University Students’ Advertising Design Competition, Internet+Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and other provincial competitions, including 425 at the national level. The quality of talent training is widely praised by the industry.

The School trains students to have independent artistic thinking, diversified creative skills and cutting-edge digital technology application ability. It cooperates with more than 40 international well-known universities such as the University of Birmingham, the University of Leeds, the University of Nottingham and the University of Edinburgh to carry out the master study program; it also launches strategic internship cooperation with more than 100 well-known enterprises at home and abroad, such as China Film Group, Huayi Brothers, Light Media, Liaoning Radio and Television Station, Liaoning People’s Art Theater, National Geographic of the United States and Byte Beat, so as to guarantee for students’ further study and employment.
