The school inherits the cultural spirit of “pursuit of outstanding service” from the five-star hotel of Green Island, and precisely cultivates management elites with international vision, leadership skills and excellent character for the industry. There are four undergraduate majors in hotel management, tourism management, human resources management, and financial management. Among them, hotel management is a national first-class undergraduate major, and financial management is a first-class undergraduate major in Liaoning Province. The school has been awarded the Liaoning Provincial Talent Training Mode Reform and Innovation Experimental Zone, the Liaoning Provincial Hotel Management Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, the Liaoning Provincial Hotel Management Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center, the Liaoning Provincial Cultural Tourism Modern Industry College, and the “Leisure and Cultural Tourism New Think Tank” of Universities in Liaoning Province.

The school has a high-level faculty of professors and doctors, more than 50% of whom have deputy senior professional titles or above, and more than 90% of the backbone teachers have overseas study and work experience. Industry leaders and elites are employed to help students grow into talents. The school is the vice-chairman unit of Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange Research Institute and Talent Training Base in the Hospitality and Pan-Service Industry of the Ministry of Education, Liaoning Hotel and Catering Association and Liaoning Human Resources and Social Security Industry Association and the director unit of China Famous Hotel Organization. In 2021, the school cooperated with InterContinental Hotels Group to build “Green Island ？ InterContinental Talent Training Academy”, and jointly established “Veryeast Hotel and Tourism Talent Training Base” with Veryeast. In the same year, it was also awarded “China Tourism Service Industry 2021 Excellent Talent Training Institute”.

The school has a practical teaching hotel which integrates catering, accommodation, conference, sports, leisure, entertainment and other facilities. The Green Island Hotel Industry Research Institute, the New Liaoning Cuisine Research Institute, the Smart Tourism Monitoring and Data-Driven Technology Laboratory, the virtual simulation practice center of hotel business management, and the smart hotel and digital tourism virtual simulation platform of Tourism Digital Simulation Laboratory are also important practical teaching buildings and platforms for students. The intelligent teaching situations of “occupational situation + virtual simulation + immersive experience” provide a solid foundation for the cultivation of advanced application-oriented talents.

The school cooperates with more than 40 internationally renowned universities, including Swiss Hotel Management School, University of Surrey, Leeds Beckett University, Sheffield Hallam University and Manchester Metropolitan University, to carry out undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It also cooperates with international famous hotel management groups such as Marriott, InterContinental, Hilton, Accor, Hyatt, Shangri-La, Rosewood, etc. The school implements strategic cooperation with well-known tourism complexes at home and abroad such as Zhuhai Chimelong, Shanghai Disney, Beijing Universal Studios, etc. The management training program, and the co-construction of internship and employment bases provided a strong guarantee for students to further their studies and employment.
