The School of Intelligent Engineering is working for a combined development of the new generation of AI industry and for the demands for qualified professionals. Its programs are featured with AI plus practical student training for multiple key technological fields, such as digital image & video intelligent processing, digital twins & extended reality, virtual simulation & intelligent operation robots, natural language AI processing, meta-factory & intelligent interaction design, embedded development of intelligent electronic control products, big data & cloud computing, intelligent system software and network platform development. And all these courses are designed to cultivate ingenious AI professionals for the development of science & technology.

As a governing member of the National Collegiate AI and Big Data Innovation Alliance, School-enterprise Cooperation Demonstration Base of Shenyang Institute of Automation, and Chinese Academy of Sciences, the school has provided four new engineering programs for its students. They are Artificial Intelligence, Robotics Engineering, Intelligent Science & Technology, and Computer Science & Technology. And now we can give full play to our interdisciplinary strengths and build a new-generation AI and future robot industry-school-research platform.

The school has a professional faculty headed by professors and senior engineers. More than 90% of the instructors have working experience in related industries and 100% of them have instructed students to compete for and win awards. There are advanced facilities, experimental training conditions, and scientific research platforms, such as the Provincial Key Laboratory of Humanoid Football Training Robots, Liaoning Provincial Employee Innovation Studio and Provincial Humanoid Football Robot Experimental Teaching Center. The school is equipped with perception and dynamic control laboratory, virtual simulation laboratory, machine vision laboratory, software engineering laboratory, intelligent control technology laboratory, neural network and deep learning laboratory. These facilities have laid a solid foundation for students’ practice activities.

The school has implemented strategic cooperation with Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the State Key Laboratory of Industrial Control Technology of Zhejiang University, Human-Robot Collaboration Laboratory of Northeastern University, the State Key Laboratory of Processing Industry, the LaBRI Laboratory of the University of Bordeaux, France, Liaoning Fuchuang Precision Equipment Co., Ltd., SIASUN Robotic Automation Co., Ltd., Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., the State Power Investment Group Co., Ltd., the Great Wall Motor Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Tianhuang Technology Industrial Co., Ltd. and other scientific research institutes and leading enterprises. Aided by these partners, the school has built many internship-employment bases to provide solid safeguard for students’ high-quality employment.
