The Modern Drama Troupe cultivates students'drama performance ability, improves students'cultural literacy and cultivates students'moral sentiment.By mastering the basic skills and methods of drama performance, students can understand the theoretical knowledge of drama art, deepen their understanding of language and culture, and improve their aesthetic style. The course of Drama Art Performance and Appreciation is open to freshmen.
The Modern Drama Troupe takes multi role performance as the carrier and selects the whole drama or drama segments as the repertoire. Students choose to play the roles in the drama according to their own characteristics and interests, and rehearse by means of individual performance, group cooperation and team combination performance, so that each student can play two roles and perform two acts of drama. An art exhibition will be held every semester. -
The Modern Drama Troupe has multimedia teaching rooms, drama rehearsal halls and multi-functional performance venues, which can undertake the teaching and rehearsal tasks of more than 300 students. I’m Waiting for you in Heaven, Thunderstorm, Teahouse, Wasteland and People, Romeo and Juliet, Secret Love of Peach Blossom Land, Wreath under the Mountain, Rotating Carmen and Field of Life and Death are classic performances of the Modern Drama Troupe.

Hui Bowen, the instructor of the Drama Troupe, graduated from Jilin University of the Arts, is a member of Shenyang Dramatist Association and Liaoning Reciter Association. He has won the first prize at the 10th Northeast Three Provinces Drama Sketch Competition, the national best performance award at the 4th National Short Drama Sketch Competition in 2014, and the first prize of performance at the 10th Northeast Three Provinces Drama Sketch Competition in 2014, and the first prize of scientific research achievements at the National Higher Education Aesthetic Education Teaching Research and Teaching Exhibition Evaluation in 2019.
Since its establishment, the Drama Troupe has won 3 awards in national art exhibition competitions and 21 awards in provincial art exhibition activities. Among them, it won the first prize at the 13th National Aesthetic Education Teaching Achievement Exhibition in 2019, the first prize at the National Higher Education Aesthetic Education Research and Teaching Exhibition and Evaluation for scientific research achievements in 2019, the excellence award at the 6th College Student Drama Festival of Liaoning Province in 2020, and the first prize at the 3rd Liaoning College Students’ Online Culture Festival in 2021.
