Quyi Troupe cultivates students'Chinese Quyi performance ability, improves students'traditional cultural literacy, and cultivates students'ideological and moral sentiment.By mastering the performance methods and skills of traditional Quyi, students can understand the basic knowledge of traditional Quyi and deepen their understanding of Chinese traditional culture. The course Performance and Appreciation of Chinese Traditional Quyi is open to freshmen.
The Quyi Troupe takes traditional Chinese Quyi forms such as crosstalk, allegro, storytelling and Jingyun drum as the carrier, selects classic Quyi works as the program, and carries out artistic rehearsals in the form of single person, double person and group combination, so that each student can learn one Quyi form and perform two programs. The Quyi Troupe holds an art exhibition once a semester. - The troupe has multimedia classrooms, multi-functional performance venues and a Xinhe crosstalk stage. It can undertake the teaching and training task of 300 students every year. The classic performances of the Quyi Troupe include crosstalk of Name the Dishes and Lantern Riddles, storytelling of Kangxi Buying a Horse and Lady General Mu Takes Command, allegro of Three Times Beating Monster and the Long March, and Jingyun drum of End of Chou and Beginning of Yin.
- Sun Wanming, the instructor of Quyi Troupe, whose stage name is Shenglang, is a crosstalk actor. As a member of Liaoning Quyi Artists Association, and taught by crosstalk performing artist Su Liansheng, he is also the artistic director of Shenyang Xinhe Crosstalk Collection. He won the excellent instructor award at the 4th College Students’ Quyi Festival in Liaoning Province in 2021.
Since its establishment, the Quyi Troupe has won 6 provincial art performance awards, including the best work award at the 4th College Students Quyi Festival in Liaoning Province in 2020, the first prize at the 13th National Aesthetic Education Teaching Achievement Exhibition in 2021, and the best performance award at the 2nd New Quyi Group New Works Exhibition in Liaoning Province in 2021. It has participated in nearly 100 public welfare performances and served more than 1000 audiences, which has been widely praised by the society.
