Founded in 2016, the Crystal Library is located on the bank of the beautiful Green Island Lake, with a construction area of 5,820 square meters. The library is white, elegant, simple and modern. It adopts the triangular steel frame structure design, with glass curtain walls on both sides, which can have a panoramic view of the lake scenery. The top is a fully transparent glass skylight, which shines like crystal under the sunlight. Because of its unique shape and design, the Crystal Library has become one of the landmark buildings of Shenyang City University.

　　The Crystal Library has a total collection of more than 530,000 books, which cover Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, philosophy, social sciences, natural sciences, and comprehensive subject categories. More than 800 reading seats are set around the bookshelves, which is convenient for students to read and study at any time.

　　The layout of the library is mainly cool and white, setting off a quiet atmosphere. It adopts the distribution pattern of large open reading space. In the middle of the first floor is the service desk, and on both sides are leisure reading areas, where students can study, communicate and interact independently. This greatly enhances the activity of students’ learning, research and information exchange, and increases their enthusiasm for learning. The periphery is equipped with a circular reading plaza, where students can gather around circular tables to communicate and discuss with each other, creating a free and open learning atmosphere.

The first floor and the underground floor are connected by a stepped reading area, and the bookshelves are arranged in a fan-shaped way. The bookshelves are close to the walls and the desks are arranged parallel to the bookshelves to form an encircling fan-shaped relationship. The desks are arranged in a single row. Each seat is equipped with power supply and light source, and surrounded by various general knowledge and tutorial books.

The second floor is mainly a traditional open-shelf reading space. The reading area is divided by bookshelves, which is neat and uniform. There is a “maker space” at the end of each side to cultivate students’ creative thinking and collaboration ability.

The underground floor is equipped with a multifunctional lecture hall and four scientific research rooms with beautiful environment and complete facilities, which provides strong support for carrying out various academic reports, professional training, teaching and scientific research activities. The library is also equipped with a reader’s reading area, an exhibition hall, an electronic reading area and a multimedia operation area to facilitate students’ diverse personalized study habits and learning needs.

Adhering to the tenet of "readers first and service first", the library actively promotes the transformation from traditional service to new service. The library implements the "all-round opening" service, with a weekly opening time of 98 hours, so as to meet the long-term reading and learning needs of all students and teachers.
